Fifth wheel transport is its own category. The pin box sits over the rear axle of the tow vehicle, the trailer rides high, and the whole rig behaves differently than a bumper pull on turns, grades, and crosswinds. If you've tried finding someone who actually knows what they're doing with a fifth wheel — and isn't just winging it with a rented truck and a YouTube tutorial — you know how rare it is to find a carrier who can answer your questions without hesitating.

We tow our own 42-foot fifth wheel. That's not a marketing line — it means we've driven one through mountain passes, backed one into tight campground spots, and dealt with every quirk that a big pin-box trailer throws at you. When we show up to move yours, we're not learning on your rig.

Fifth wheel and gooseneck — both hitches, one truck

Our 2024 Ram 3500 DRW carries both a fifth wheel hitch and a gooseneck hitch. Some newer fifth wheels use a gooseneck adapter ball rather than a standard pin box — a carrier who only has one hitch type has to turn down half the jobs. We don't. Whether your trailer uses a traditional pin box or a gooseneck conversion, we're equipped on arrival.

What fifth wheel transport involves

Before we hook up, we do a documented pre-trip inspection — photos of all four corners, the pin box, all slide-outs retracted, tire pressure checked on every axle, brake lights and running lights confirmed. That record protects you and us. At delivery, we position your trailer where you need it and send you photos confirming placement. You're never left guessing.

Fifth wheels travel well: the weight is over the rear axle rather than behind it, so sway is less of a concern than with a bumper pull. But they're taller and often heavier, so we pay attention to bridge clearances and campground overhead obstacles on delivery. We note those things and plan accordingly.

Common fifth wheel routes from Austin

We run Austin to San Antonio, Austin to Houston, and Austin to Dallas–Fort Worth regularly. We also handle longer hauls when customers purchase trailers out of state and need them delivered to Central Texas. For pricing, see our RV transport pricing page. For our full coverage area, visit service areas. If you have a bumper pull instead, see our travel trailer transport page.
